The email I received from Alderman Murphy claimed Wisconsin Lutheran College is looking to build a parking structure, but many of us know that construction workers have accounted for a lot of the parking issues in the neighborhood, too. (Just look for pickup trucks.) My concern in the email I sent to Murphy was for Michigan St. (91st to 93rd). When my kids get on the bus and Michigan is parked full on both sides, I see single-lane traffic on a road not meant to accommodate four cars in width. It's dangerous, but it seems the DOT did not recommend the city change parking restrictions, so it stands until one of us gets in a car accident or residents create a petition. Since it's not technically my block, I will defer to anyone who wants to take it further. The DOT has not acted on my concerns, but you can. Also, contact me if you have more information about Wisconsin Lutheran College or construction worker parking structures.
